Martin Moore is an attorney, mediator, and Buncombe County Commissioner running for District Attorney. A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and UNC School of Law, Martin began his career as a public defender in Asheville and has over a decade of experience in civil, criminal, and appellate courts, including working on cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
As a County Commissioner, he has championed early childhood education, affordable housing, and racial justice initiatives—including Buncombe’s historic reparations effort.
Martin also serves as Chair of OpenDoors of Asheville, co-chair of the Campaign for Southern Equality, and serves as a board member at Pisgah Legal and ArtsAVL.
